Upon her graduation from the University of Wales, Aberystwyth in 2008 with a Bachelor of Law (LL.B. equivalent), Elycia embarked on her legal career in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, by joining Lee, Oliver & Gan (Advocates & Solicitors) as a Legal Executive. During her tenure, she gained a solid foundation in both litigation and corporate practice, handling various matters involving governmental agencies, statutory bodies, and cross-border regulatory processes. Her active involvement in client-facing matters, including advising on corporate decisions and participating in board and management meetings, honed her analytical and advisory skills at an early stage of her career.
After several years of professional experience in Malaysia, Elycia continued her legal journey in Indonesia, where she joined Makes & Partners, one of the country’s most prominent law firms with a strong reputation in capital markets and securities law. During her time with Makes & Partners, she was extensively involved in capital market transactions, securities compliance, and corporate structuring projects, providing legal assistance to both domestic and foreign clients. Her exposure to high-profile deals and complex regulatory work in Indonesia further strengthened her capabilities in advising on sophisticated financial and transactional matters.
Elycia’s experience also extends to Singapore, where she deepened her understanding of Singaporean law and commercial practice, particularly in cross-border corporate transactions and investment structures involving Southeast Asia jurisdictions. Her regional exposure in Malaysia, Indonesia, and Singapore equips her with a well-rounded perspective and a nuanced understanding of legal, regulatory, and commercial dynamics across ASEAN. This unique combination of multi-jurisdictional experience enables Elycia to provide practical, commercially driven legal advice that aligns with international standards while remaining grounded in local realities.
